iCardio Workout Tracker App Reviews

LOVE THIS FITNESS APP!

I use every day for tracking exercise - from running, biking cross training to yoga. Their customer service is the best - excellent response!

Update on my review

If your app is crashing, go into settings->Bluetooth, select your monitoring device and choose "forget this device". iOS will re-scan and find your device again. Select it and connect. The you should be able to start iCardio without an instant crash. I still want the option of choosing when to update though, because I dont want to have to debug something when Im ready to start my workout. ............... I use this app on the iPad. Or at least, I used to use it when it was digifit and stable. This was once a good app. Now its a crash fest. This is the second update that has let me down when Im ready to start my workout. At least give me a choice on updates. That way I can still use it for my workout and update later.

Recent problems

Has started crashing and shutting off in the middle of workouts. Has great detail and features, but when you put it in your pack and then check it after an hour workout, seeing that it crashed 3 minutes in is not cool.

Great app!

Ive been using this app for a couple years and use it with a Polar H7 heart rate monitor to monitor and track all of my fitness activities: running, cycling, strength training, HIIT training, etc... I am especially impressed with its ability to program HIIT sessions and then prompt you through it telling when to speed up & slow down.

FIX THE SCREEN ROTATE ERROR!!

Keeps making my iPad switch to portrait while I am in landscape as I switch between screens. VERY Annoying. Will change MY RATING TO 5 stars if they fix.

Robust Features, Fun

Lots of good features (so many that its sometimes confusing to use) and flexibility for different types of activities. Provides good encouragement and details to keep you motivated in your workouts. Good integration with MyFitnessPal although I think that the calorie counts for things like yoga and weightlifting are too high. Calorie counts for walking and other aerobic activities seems more accurate or at least on better agreement with other activity tracking apps. It would be really nice if the heart monitor from Fitbit or AppleWatch would work with Digifit as they both seem like theyd be more consistent & accurate than the Pulsar which fluctuates wildly in this app. Now that the new Apple Watch 2 will work for water activities, it would be even more desirable to integrate with iCardio. Would be nice to have persistent preferences for each type of activity; e.g. Using GPS for walking, hiking & dog walks but not for swimming, elliptical or yoga. Its a pain to turn it on or off for every activity although its slightly easier to change with the latest revision.

Current Version is Broken

Ive been using this app since 2012, and the current version (as of SEP 2016) is BROKEN. The app loses GPS signal without warning, despite maintaining HRM connection; the result is accurate time and heart rate info, with wildly inaccurate distance/speed/pace (example: 1.6 miles reported for a 56 mile bike). Save yourself the frustration and wait for this app to be fixed before you use it.

Wasted 2.99

and I learned that it doesnt work with either ant or ble sensors. Support is useless. Buy a program that actually has a sensor that it commits to pair with.

Crashing!!

Not sure if I am unique, but it wont even open!!?? Gonna trying and remove and re-install to see if that fixes it. If it is not just me, please fix!

works great with my equipment

I have used Digifit for about 4 years now and the new version is easier to set at the workout you want and is cleaner to read. I also like the fact that it kept all my information but that was probably also because I back up my iPhone using iCloud too. It looks great in both iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 formats. It is still my most reliable app for keeping track of my workout. Peared with a heartrate monitor and/or a footpod to workout and I find it works great with both. I get motivated to move.

Used to work. Going back to Runkeeper.

Used to love it and now i hate it. It worked great with my old scosche mytrek until they updated the app. No longer supports anything but the new sensors. I really wish they had notified customers that the update would do this BEFORE taking our money to enable sensors that could only be used for a month. What a rip off. Dont waste your money; go with Runkeeper.

I biker

I use this app daily for all of my workouts. The map feature is cool to see your routes.

Lipstick on a pig

I am a trainer; I work clients out with Heart Zones for cardio so a heart rate monitor and a clear screen is essential to my work. Im also a rower and a swimmer. I used to love Digifits easy to read graphs and the flexibility to plug in my own HR numbers. I also loved their interaction with so many other apps, specifically Wahoo. Now their update seems merely cosmetic. I cant modify any of the fields for my indoor rowing to plug in watts, 500m splits, strokes/minute or drag factor settings. Even one of those metrics would help but its basically just a folder. (Might as well keep the file on a spreadsheet and store it in Dropbox.) Finally their integration with Apple Health is terrible. They, of course, blame Apple which may have merit except that Wahoo integrates quite nicely with Apple Health. And since Digifit no longer partners with Wahoo I cant even create a simple work around. Its a shame.

Drinking the Digifit koolaid, with Zumba!

NOTE: You do need a bluetooth heart rate monitor, otherwise it is guesswork. So go get one to fully enjoy this app. With the latest update I can track all my Zumba workouts and check how many calories I burn, how much time I workout and brag to my friends about my newfound fitness life. You can too!

Works for me

I have been using it for just under a year and have never had a problem. On occasion (usually Fridays) I have to restart the phone to get the bluetooth to connect to my Polar H7, but I blame that on Apple not this program. I do a 1000-1200 calorie workout every weekday and it has been fun and a real motivation to see the calories add up. The most recent update was a pretty dramatic UI change, but I have found no change in calorie count.

Useful

I use my heart rate monitor that I received from Orange Theory Fitness. This app allows me to see how intense I am working out. I love the options for the types and locations of my workout. Also, the history of my workout results is very useful for monitoring my progress.

Update dumped my custom heart rate zone

Totally ridiculous and unnecessary update. You want to impress your user base? Upgrade that terribly slow and buggy website of yours. Whatever backend stuff you guys did managed to totally jack up my custom heart rate zones so now all it will show is "above", with the zone screen zoomed way in. Cant change it back on that lousy site so now the only feedback I can get is the generic "digifit" chart when I get home. Yah great. Sure glad I paid for that "pro" upgrade. Nothing like an app company changing features and breaking stuff AFTER you buy it. Fix my purchase quickly please. This is totally unacceptable.

Used to be great app!

I have been using this app for over 4 years now and it has been great all rounder especially since I do all sorts of workouts from weight to aerobics to squash to swimming. This last update not only did it completely change my profile but also doesnt convert from metrics properly anymore! My calorie counts are less than half (was the old algorithm that bad??.. I dont think so). I hope they fix this soon otherwise a lot of customers will be moving on to other competitive apps. What a shame!

Digifit Rocks

When you chose not to support Ant+, I chose to longer use Digift. One more unnecessary forced obsolescence. Shame on you.

Just ok

I have questionable calorie calculations. I wish you could pause the cardio and switch over to weights and continue the work out. Other than that its ok to help you through
